Safety
Whilst the stairs are typically in better condition then those found at viewpoints around Misool, extra care is needed when climbing both up and down. Many sections are uneven, worn, or broken, with limited support in places.
Steps can be extremely slippery after rainfall
Best Time to Visit
Early morning is the best time to visit, with cooler temperatures. Late afternoon is also a good option, with softer light and fewer visitors.
The best season to visit Raja Ampat is from October to April, when conditions are calmer
Sea conditions are typically more calm during this period, making boat travel easier

Piaynemo Raja Ampat Photography
Piaynemo is one of the most distinctive viewpoints in northern Raja Ampat. The viewpoint itself offers an incredible vantage point to get a great shot of lagoon below and the karst structures.
Piaynemo Photography Tips
The viewpoint is great for getting the iconic shot, however it is fairly restricted by the demarcated area.
A drone is definitely the most effective way to shoot the wider area including the Star Lagoon.
I would suggest using a CPL filter (Circular Polarizing Lens) on both your drone and DSLR.
It will greatly reduce the glare on the water allowing the natural turquoise blue and green colours to come out.
Another tip to get around this is by shooting slightly under exposed, dependent on the time of day.
